Trakker Cayman 1 Man Bivvy
Whether you’re someone who is just getting into carp fishing and looking to invest in your first proper bivvy or you’re a life long fanatic after a bivvy upgrade, you can’t go wrong with this offering from Trakker. First things first, this bivvy is very competitively priced and you’ll struggle to find something of this higher quality at this price point. This makes it a great option for the angler on a budget, who still wants all the bells and whistles that make life on the bank so enjoyable.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Trakker Cayman Bivvy is its two rib design. This was one of the first bivvies on the market to use a two rib setup and you’ll be amazed about how quick it is to erect. The bivvy is supplied with a heavy duty groundsheet, which is the first thing you would lay out when erecting the bivvy to give you its footprint. It can also be fished without the groundsheet in the summer months, should you so desire, and the Trakker Cayman Bivvy come supplied with it own tension strap. The two ribs have dual break points, meaning that it is incredibly easy to slot the bivvy together. All you need to do then is peg the rear of the bivvy into position. By pulling the front rib forward you quickly and easily erect the bivvy.
The two rib design ensures that the Trakker Cayman Bivvy can offer the dream combination of small footprint and huge internal space. The back of the bivvy is practically flat. This means that you can push your bedchair as far back as you like into the bivvy, giving you acres of space up front for the storage of all your most important gear. You can also position your bedchair in the middle of your bivvy, allowing you to mix up your stage front and back to create an organised setup that works for you. With maximum internal space taking up minimal external ground, the bivvy is perfect for the tightest swims when you still want enough gear to keep you comfortable for a long session.
To give the frame the additional support it needs, the Trakker Cayman Bivvy come supplied with interlocking support bars. These clip in between the ribs, preventing the bivvy from sagging. The bivvy is also fitted with a storm peak on the front. This ensures that you never have to worry about rain entering the bivvy – even with the door open. The storm peak directs the rain off the side of the bivvy and it means that you can comfortably sit in the bivvy with the door open, watching over your swim.
Unlike some two rib bivvies the front panel of the Trakker Cayman Bivvy comes fitted. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t use this bivvy as an open fronted day shelter. By simply rolling up the door and pining back the sings, you can transform this bivvy for a quick day session. If the weather turns, you can always use the door in a letter box manner instead. This allows you to enjoy a panoramic view of your swim whilst still keeping sheltered from the elements – ideal on a bitterly cold morning when the rain is lashing down. The front door can also swapped out for a mozzie mesh panel. This is ideal in the summer months when you want a breeze running through your bivvy but you don’t want to risk obtaining nasty mosquito bites. The bivvy also comes with a clear door option, which is great for cold days.
As a final touch, the Trakker Cayman Bivvy is fitted with two rod retainer straps. You can also purchase an overwrap, to reduce the risk of condensation and to provide more warmth and space.
