Nash Scope Rods MK2
Billed as the most compact kit that has ever been designed for carp fishing, the Nash Scope range is ideal for those anglers who don’t want big and bulky gear taking up loads of space at home, in their boot, or on the bank. The complete Scope range contains a whole host of products designed for the carp angler and it includes everything from an ultra-compact bivvy through to carp fishing luggage solutions. The range also contains a collection of carp fishing rods, all of which have been built on the same compact ethos as the rest of the Scope range. This makes them the ideal product for fishing out of those stealthy swims, when low hanging trees of close-knit foliage might make fishing with a traditional 12ft or 13ft carp rod impossible. These are the Mk2 rods in the Scope series – the second generation which combines all the benefits of the original Scope series with some fantastic new technology in order to allow you to push your performance to the limits.
There are both 9ft and 10ft rods in the Nash Scope Mk2 range. These are both perfect for compact angling scenarios, with the 10ft model being ideal for the angler who likes to cast out that little bit further and the 9ft being perfect for all your intermediate and close range carp fishing. There are a variety of test curves across the range, too, from the lightest 2.75lb right the way up to an impressive 4.5lb offering. Each of those test curves gives you something slightly different in terms of rod performance, so you can choose the perfect test curve for your style of angling.
Both the 9ft and 10ft 2.75lb models are exceptional all-round performers. Designed as the ultimate small-water carping tool, they are equally as comfortable handling 2oz or 3oz leads over distances up to 90 yards. They have proven themselves on a huge range of waters, including commercial venues and park lakes, and are ideal for use whether you’re stalking or enjoying some floater fishing. What’s more, these rods have also held their own against some hard fighting barbel on the UK’s most powerful specimen rivers – including both the Wye and the Severn. Thanks to their forgiving through action and accurate casting, the 2.75lb test is ideal for a whole host of specialist fishing tasks.
One level up and you’ll find yourself face to face with the 9ft and 10ft 3lb Scope rods. These rods feature an upgraded middle section, making them ideal for use against bigger carp or more challenging waters. Gravel pits, larger lake, or rivers – you can take your pick when you’re headed to the water with a top quality 3lb Nash Scope! These rods are suitable for leads up to 3.5oz and, thanks to their pronounced tip action, are accurate up to 120 yards.
If you want to target extreme rivers, large reservoirs, and large double figure carp then you need the 9ft or 10ft 3.5lb Nash Scope rod. Perfect for fishing with PVA or method feeders, the forgiving tip action on these rods ensures that they can cast 3oz or 4oz leads with accuracy up to 150 yards. These rods offer a pleasurable fish playing ability, even when you’ve got a huge carp putting a bend in your blank, and a powerful middle section ensures that you can cope with large fish with ease.
Finally, there is the big daddy of the series: the 4.5lb test rods. Available in both 9ft and 10ft, this rod is ideal for the angler who likes to try their hand with big carp the world over. Capable of casting 4oz or 5oz lead out to 170 yards, this is a distance casting tool that allows you to enjoy maximum power.
