Korda Krank Fishing Hooks
Every angler knows that the smallest modifications to a rig can make all the difference to your angling success and it goes without saying that your hook is a vital component of your terminal tackle setup. This is why this Korda Krank Hook was years in the making, as the Korda development team – lead by the legendary Tom Dove – wanted to ensure that it offered something that you’ll have never seen before. The team has certainly achieved this and the Korda Krank has been wowing anglers up and down the country – including countless members of the Korda team such as Elliott Gray and Neil Spooner.
Tom Dove began to design the pattern of the Korda Krank the second he joined the team. An avid angler from an early age, Tom had always struggled with hook pulls and he was fed up with losing fish. He had particular trouble with the various wide gape hooks which were around on the market at this time. Not only did the increased gape create weak points in the hook but the tubing used to modify the hook to suit his presentation practically removed any advantage he was getting from the gape anyway! Tom wanted to create a wide gape hook which didn’t need tubing, shrink wraps, or any other of that kind of clutter getting in the way of things. In short, he wanted to design a simple hook which allowed him to cast out with confidence in his presentation; one that would naturally turn towards the mouth of the fish for a deep hook set time after time. The result was this Korda Krank – a unique pattern which has proven itself time and time again against some of the UK’s finest carpy opponents.
The first thing you’ll notice about this hook is its impressive gape – it really does push the limits of what a wide gape hook can offer. This is complemented by a beaked point, giving you hypodermic-like sharpness which can pierce the mouth of even the gnarliest old carp. Its micro-barb gives you that extra bit of confidence, especially when you are fishing for a huge personal best which would be devastating to lose. The sweeping curved shank of the hook and in-turned eye was inspired by the success Tom had experienced with the Korda Kurv and, combined with the wide gape and sharp point, leaves you with an uncompromising hook pattern designed to succeed. In fact, in product testing, this hook pattern was proven to hook fish those vital few millimetres deeper. It might be a small difference, but differences like this can make all the difference in terms of your angling success. After all, there is nothing more devastating than suffering a hook pull on a potential personal best! If you’re looking to get more fish hooked and landed then you need look no further – the Korda Krank is the perfect tool for you.
The Korda Krank has proven particularly popular when used in conjunction with the KD rig, especially when rigged using the classic knotless knot. This ensures that you can fish with an exceptionally simple pattern which offers you devastating results. What’s more, it ensures that this hook is highly versatile, as it can be used in a whole variety of scenarios in order to ensure angling success. If you’re looking for a high quality hook which has been proven to succeed then the Korda Krank is the one for you.
The Korda Krank is available in five different sizes, from a size 10 right up to a size two, to ensure that you can choose the ideal hook for your carp fishing needs.
