Daiwa Yank N Bank Feeder Rod Review Daiwa Yank N Bank Pellet Waggler Rod Review Over the last few months there's been a mass of new products launched by tackle manufacturers around the country. We've been lucky enough to see them all, but when it comes to new commercial-style match rods there was one that impressed us more than most.

For 2015 Daiwa is launching three sets of rods covering different price ranges. We were dazzled by all of them - we'll bring you more on the others in coming issues - and have been lucky enough to get our hands on one set of them. Our editor got out on the bank to find out what they have to offer.

Daiwa Yank 'N' Bank

Daiwa's Yank 'N' Bank range of rods delivers the archetypal weaponry for commercial fishing. Split between pellet-waggler and tip rods you're looking at a total of six in the range - three of each type.

These, as you'd expect, are spread over different lengths, with each type of rod getting 10, 11 and 12ft versions delivering different levels of range, power and use.

The Yank 'N' Bank name has been around and across quality kit for years now as a more mid-level offering from the company - and the new rods continue this with style.

Daiwa Yank 'N' Bank 10ft Feeder Rod

At the shortest of the tip rods in the new range, the 10ft feeder is the perfect choice for smaller venues where range isn't a problem. It's light, it's delicate and feels precise. This is obviously to do with its length needing a lot less carbon than bigger rods, but also because the blank is slim and well tuned - it measures just over a centimetre in diameter at its widest point. Casting a bomb around, the top third of the rod, past the push-in quivertip, loads up to deliver enough power for your effort so that you're not 'reaching' and overdoing it to the detriment of accuracy.

A little pull and push of the handle and out sails the lead with a good feel, giving you confidence that you'll hit in our around your target with relative ease.

In the rest the two-piece rod gives good sensitivity across all three of its tip weights - 1, 1.5 and 2oz - all of which are super slim in design and taper nicely into the rod.

Into a fish and the rod takes on a different form. The blank delivers a progressive action that responds to the power the fish puts in, pulling the carbon round in a progressive curve that gives you a growing amount of grunt the more the rod bends. In this way you can play out a range of sizes of fish while steel feeling well in control - impressively so for such a small unit.

Elsewhere the Yank 'N' Bank features a number of other nice touches. The flattened cork on the handle means no rolling when the rod's on your knee, a screw-down EVA handle top traps the reel seat in the perfect position and the 15 line guides being low profile to the blank make for smoother casting.

As you'd expect from Daiwa the finish is lovely, great colours with an EVA/cork handle and the addition of a handy hook keeper. Also included with the rod is a sleeve to store the rod in, both made-up and broken down into its two pieces.

Overall a lovely rod for bomb and light feeder/method work on well stocked commercials, especially for the price tag.
