Description
The UK’s leading catfish expert, Simon Clarke, established Catfish Pro in 2004 as a response to the growing demand for catfish fishing tackle and accessories. Catfish angling has been a steadily growing area of the sport for many years, but for much of this time, it has suffered from a lack of specific equipment and information in general. The Catfish-Pro product range was designed to cope with UK catfishing as well as catfishing abroad.
The catfish (Silurus glanis) is the largest freshwater fish within the UK and probably also within Europe. Catfish can range from a host of sizes but tend to be a bit smaller in the UK. On the other side of the pond, in European waters catfish tend to be a lot larger. This XXL unhooking mat is designed for those larger predators.
Whether you are an angler fishing in the UK or you travel across the channel for a larger PB of catfish or pike, the XXL landing mat has you covered. Having extra space is always good for the fish. This Catfish Pro unhooking mat is a low profile design, sporting the camouflage muted tones used at the bank.
The mat is made from a special high density of foam to make mats less bulky yet super comfortable for the fish whilst retaining the fish. Great cushioning is required for great fish care, ensuring those delicate scales are not damaged as you place the catfish or pike down to unhook, clean and take a quick snap of before returning them to its watery home!
Not only is the mat light and cushioned but it features a zipped flap which when unfolded doubles the size of the mat. This can be used for you to lean on but is more useful for covering the captured fish. When you are holding the fish for a picture it is ideal to hold over the extended size and in between photo prep you should shade the fish on the mat to protect it from heat and light.
The size of the XXL mat is 86in long and 30in wide but with the flap folded out, it totals as 66in long x 60in wide.
