The Trakker Tempest RS 100 Bivvy is part of the new Trakker Tempest RS range. This is the culmination of years of development for the team at Trakker Products. Trakker believe that they have improved the preceding Trakker Tempest to make an even quicker and easier bivvy to erect. Introducing the Trakker Tempest Rapid Shelter (RS).
At the core of each of the new bivvies is the new updated patented hinge block, which the Trakker Tempest range has always been renowned for. This is one of the key features that allows this one man bivvy to be set up in no time. With the Tempest RS range, set-up time, usability and functionality have all been greatly increased even further with the introduction of the Rapid Knuckle System. This enables all five main poles to be locked into position in one effortless action. Making the act of setting up your shelter as secure as possible and as easy as click, fan, lock!
On all Tempest RS Bivvies and Brollies, there are additional rapid shelter enhancements such as an included built in peak. This has been designed to minimise water ingress in and around the door of the bivvy/brolly. This peak can be increased even further to allow even more coverage and protection when used in addition with the corresponding Trakker Tempest RS 100 Bivvy Skull Cap.
Another new feature on the Tempest 100 RS Bivvy is the back/rear of the bivvy which has been made flatter than its predecessor. Trakker believes that this strikes an optimal balance between internal storage space, the aerodynamics of the bivvy and the ability to fit into swims.
Adaptive ventilation has been introduced on six vents on this Trakker Tempest Bivvy (four on the back and two on the front) to improve airflow through the whole shelter area. This allows airflow through the shelter even when it is raining. A key advantage to remain comfortable when fishing in the UK summer. In warmer conditions you can peg out the four rear vents to create areas of shade to help stay cooler. These can be pegged out using the new Trakker Tempest RS Cool Guys (available separately). This used with the corresponding Trakker Tempest Skull Cap can reduce the internal temperature of the shelter by several degrees.
To increase the storage on the Tempest RS 100 Bivvy, there are four internal mesh storage pockets, two on each side of the bivvy and two at the front. The pockets at the front of the bivvy have a hanging loop sewn in. This allow you store key essentials such as your bite alarm receiver or even your jacket for a quick exit in changeable conditions.
The new patented block on the Tempest RS range features an advanced GRP composite. This makes the block light weight, super strong and fatigue-resistant.
The rapid knuckle system is a key element on the Trakker Tempest RS 100 Bivvy making the setup of the brolly as easy as click, fan, lock, as it allows all five main poles to be locked in position in one movement. This system also includes built in Skull Cap mounts for the Tempest RS 100 Bivvy Skull Cap.
The material of this Trakker Tempest Bivvy is made from an enhanced Aquatexx fabric. This has a 25000mm hydrostatic head water repellent rating. The outer material features a multi-layer breathable system which helps to increase the materials breathability. Furthermore, a black out pigment has been used on the Aquatexx material which reduces light and heat ingress (sun damage) and should prevent colour fade after extended use.
All poles on the Tempest RS Bivvy are anti-twist. They are also black textured powder coated to allow you to get a firm grip on the pole to twist, no matter the conditions.
The tall bivvy design has been to maximise headroom in the shelter, and ensure that you are able to sit upright on your bedchair to allow you to remain comfortable and/or survey the water.
All bivvies are supplied with two magnetic rod straps. These are great to secure the rod in place when re-baiting, or if you are frequently using spods, to leave the spodding rod safe and in position when not in use.
Dimensions of the bivvy when fully set up are 145cm (height) x 265cm (width) x 220cm (depth). The pack down/transport size of this shelter are 129cm (length) x 24cm.
Each Tempest RS 100 Bivvy is supplied with groundsheet, clear window, additional bivvy pegs, two quicksticks, and tension strap. Everything is packed into an oversized heavy duty NXG carry bag that is built to last and with the bag being oversized, will make it easy to pack your new bivvy away at the end of each session.
The weight of the shelter itself is 9.4kg and when adding the weight of the pegs, quick sticks and carry bag when packed away bring the total carry weight to 14.6kg.
