Alex Bones checks out Guru's latest additions to it's range of superb hook lengths.
Adding to the already popular line of excellently tied ready-to-use hook lengths are Guru's new 4inch and 15inch versions, including bait band, bayonet and speed stop options, with line diameters ranging from 0.15mm to 0.25mm.
The big difference now, though, is that the new 15inch versions are all supplied on Guru foam spools; the same as used in the company's rig case.
All are clearly marked, so there's no confusion over exactly what you're picking up off the tackle-shop shelf, and each of the spools is also supplied in a tinted plastic case to protect the lines from harmful UV light while in the tackle shop and outside on the bank.
I will say, however, that the foam spools are quite tricky to remove from the plastic casing, so make sure you don't damage the line if you're levering the spools out with some implement or other.
On the rig front the same specs have been added, but 4inch lengths, most suitably for use in conjunction with a Method, Pellet or new Guru Hybrid Feeder.
Each rig is perfectly tied using the strongest knots and a small length of silicone tubing to keep the hair aligned. They all feature the superb QM1 barbless hook too - something that I can personally lay claim to playing a big hand in developing. These are simply great hooks and one of the best available for self-hooking styles of fishing. You get eight rigs per pack.
