Greys Prodigy Klip-Lok Tackle Bases - The Review
For today’s Wednesday review we take a look at the Greys Prodigy Klip-Lok Tackle Base Boxes…
Accessory tackle boxes seem to be all the rage at the moment: there certainly are plenty to choose from. So when I was given this Greys Prodigy Klip-Lok Tackle Base to use and abuse, my first thought was: “Oh! Another box to fill with bits.”
That was until I discovered that the box is just part of a complete range of accessories that has been launched, aimed at the pleasure angler. It’s a full range, most of which comes in smaller boxes tailor-made to fit in the Tackle Base.
I’ve got the Fully Loaded version – there are three to choose from – which comes with some small accessory boxes that fit in two fully-adjustable compartments, with moveable separators.
In the centre of the main body the central compartment houses a rig board with colour-coded, flexible anchors. It’s a double-sided board, so it can take long as well as short hooklengths. The anchors are stored in two drawers in the rig board.
Located below the main body there are two large side drawers. Each of these is divided into two: a small compartment with moveable separators and a larger area for bigger accessories and line.
The overall dimensions of the box (14in x 8in x 4in), mean it will fit into most tackle bags/carryalls. There’s a ruler on both sides of the lid to the main compartment, which also has a recess in the middle for retaining small items when setting up. And all the lids, whether on the base or any of the small accessory boxes, come with a waterproof seal.
I loaded all my river roving gear into this one, and it took it all with room to spare, leaving space for a few feeders when I fancy a static session. It also fitted into the small carryall that I currently use, leaving plenty of space for other essentials like my flask and lunch.
It’s a cracking piece of kit, and with all the extras you can get, it’s well worth a look…
