Fox Compact Supa Brolly

I’ve reviewed the Fox Supa Brolly on a couple of occasions and, once I’d got the grips with threading the front pole, I was smitten!

On the subject of the pole, while it’s easy enough to attach, and is essential to maintain a round profile, it does mean slightly more effort compared to other brollies.

This is ostensibly a brolly but, in truth, it has the internal dimensions and space of a much more substantial shelter. Following requests from its many loyal customers, Fox has now introduced this smaller, compact version, which is more in keeping with a brolly in terms of size and footprint.



The same unique STS internal mechanism remains, which maximises space and headroom, so although it’s smaller in size compared with the original, there is still ample room inside.

There is certainly no annoying banging of your head every time you get out of the bedchair and it allows ample room for the day angler sat on a chair.

There are two versions, as with the original, a standard and a ‘system’, which includes an extra infill and heavy duty groundsheet.

If you want a full-ob bivvy with the convenience of a brolly system then I’d go for the original. However, if you’re a proper brolly angler and just need a compact shelter but with more internal room than any brolly currently on the market, then the new compact will be right up your street.
