Wednesday Review - Dynamite Big Fish Range

With the sunny spells warming up the rivers bring the new river fishing season upon us, Dynamite baits have launched a bundle of amazing baits to their already rather impressive range. The new baits are from Big Fish range, perfect for targeting big feeders such as barbel, chub and river carp.

The Big Fish range started in 2018 with a few products and just two flavoured baits; Cheese & Garlic and Shrimp and Krill. Although both flavours have been incredibly popular, Dynamite have just added a brand-new flavour designed to get you excited and fish ‘queuing up’ on rivers.

The Meat-Furter flavour gives a spicy sausage tang to the bait which Dynamite have tested on their local river Trent to be a successful barbel, chub and carp catcher. Just like the other two flavours there is a groundbait, bait soak, Buster hookbaits and a paste but Dynamite have also brought out new matching pellets for all three flavours as well as a durable hook bait so you will have the best bait set up this summer.

The groundbait is a heavy mix, designed to attract big fish on fast flowing water and it is packed with coarse particles including pellets to create a bed of attraction on the riverbed. The groundbait comes in 1.8kg bags and is a rich brown colour, perfect for introducing into your swim via a feeder, or you can ball it in, topping the swim up throughout the session to maintain interest. Whether you are mixing into firm balls for your hook for to sink to the bottom of the bed, either way Dynamite baits stay highly flavoured.

To go with your groundbait, Dynamtie have also released the bait soaks of the new spicy sausage flavour and classic cheese and garlic flavour and shrimp and krill. These bait soaks are perfect for glugging hookbaits or boosting groundbait and spod mixes. The soak is water soluble for rapid leak off, maximising attraction. With 500ml in the bottle with screw cap, you soak will last and serve your bait well.

The Dynamite Buster Hookbaits are perfect for adding to your hook or attached just underneath the hook to offer the high leakage of the optional flavours but slow breakdown. The busters are approximately 14mm in sizes and come with 20mm of oil in the tub to keep them highly flavoured and fresh when not in use.

Also new to the range is the Big Fish River Durable Hookbaits which are also available for all three Big Fish River flavours. These Durable Hookers are around 12mm in size and are designed to leak flavour into the water from the moment you cast in and with a one-hour breakdown rate quick bites are certainly expected. The bait is soft enough to hook direct but tough enough to hair-rig the baits have a medium to long breakdown time. The durable hookbaits are great to combine alongside the matching Buster hookbaits to achieve the best of both worlds.

The range also features pastes of all three flavours that is ideal for wrapping around leads or hookbaits, othering extra leakage whilst having a medium breakdown speed. The paste will ooze flavour downstream and attract big fish.

Another addition to the Big Fish range is the River Pellets. The bag of mixed pellets in Cheese & Garlic, Shrimp & Krill and the new Meat-Furter flavours comes in 1.8kg bags which includes a mix of 4, 6 and 8mm pellets. The variation in pellet sizes are designed to hit the deck hard and attract fish from downstream. You can use the pellets straight out of the bag or dampened and fished in a feeder. The pellets can be introduced via a baitdropper or a PVA bag, the different sizes breaking down at different rates.

Not only is the range compelling with its scent, it also looks colourful and it will leak plenty of attractants from the minute it goes into the water, lending itself to short sessions, roving and more static fishing.

With the rivers season about to start, this range complete of bait, with feed, hook baits and some useful ‘extras’, looks great for attracting barbel, chub and carp, whether you are fishing a small tributary or a large stretch of the Severn or Trent.
