The Match Winner reel range brings with it years of extensive, tried-and-tested Daiwa technology and this mid-price-range offering harnesses much of what is on offer from the more expensive models in the Daiwa portfolio.
The body is made from aluminium, which Daiwa calls Hardybodyz. The beauty of this is that it allows the reel to deliver the same, solid winding power that you get with the more expensive TDR model.
Daiwa's High Impact Protection (HIP) line clip has been another major development leap and is now incorporated across many of the firms reels, having started out originally o the uber-popular Daiwa TD-X model.
Aside from those two features the reels boast much, much more, including Daiwa's famous AirBail, Air Rotor, six ball bearings plus two CRBB (bearings), infinite Anti-Reverse, Twist Buster II, Silent Oscillation, Digigear II, ABS II and spare spool.
The Quick Drag (QD) feature is also present, allowing the drag to be altered drastically with just a small tweak of the dial. This is particularly useful for 'free spool' - type fishing when you're looking for savage bites from bigger fish, like Carp. You can set the drag to release line easily on the bite, but with only a small adjustment your efficiently manage line control and tighten the drag to subdue any hooked fish. A one-touch folding handle also aids fast and easy storage; perfect for taking your setups ready-made to the bankside.
There are single and double-handled versions available in the 2508 and 3012 sizes and a single-handle version only in the 4012 size.
These are incredibly attractive-looking reels, with all of the grunt inside to match.
