Well the weather gods haven't been playing ball here in Whitby, as over the past few weeks we've been battered by some terrible conditions, firstly by the so called 'Beast From The East' and then secondly by the tail end of 'Storm Emily'.
However, despite this we've still managed to get out and get amongst the fish.
With the up-tiding season now finished we've turned our attention to the wrecks and already we've had a couple of successful days afloat, even though it is still early.
We've landed both Cod and Pollock to just over double figures and the overall stamp of fish has been very good.
With the water still fairly coloured Dirty Squid and Cart have tempted the majority of the fish, however we've still managed a few on lures. By far the most popular has been the Jellyworm, although we haven't had a fish take a lure more than 20 turns up from the wreck! As the water clears and the clarity increases this should all change though.
If you want to book on for a few days fishing you can contact either of the skippers of our two charter boats.
