Well another W.C.S.A Festival is over and despite having a great time of it, we just fell at the final hurdle!
Conditions were hard at times and the weather was far from favourable, some days we were fishing wrecks 20 miles off shore, desperately trying to seek some clearer water. However we still had a great time and that’s what its all about.
Regular angler Carl Farra dominated the festival onboard the Trot-on and was winning for the majority of it with a 10lb 14oz Ling, however he was agonisingly nudged into second place with only a few days left to fish!
Despite this slight disappointment we still dominated the daily prizes, with more first places than any other boat.
Shaun Elwicks boat, The Alliance, also had a great festival landing fish every day, with the best being a plump Cod of 8lb.
Overall the fishing has been steady, but hopefully if we have a nice period of settled weather, the waters will clear and we’ll start to see plenty more fish. Fingers crossed for a great summer here in Whitby!
