Behold the new ‘Best In Class’ bivvy package from Trakker: the SLXV2 – a shelter which covers every season of the year but with a wallet-friendly price tag.
From Danny Fairbrass to Darrell Peck, Tom Dove to Ali Hamidi, there’s a reason why Trakker bivvies have long been the bankside house of choice for the biggest of big named anglers: they’re effortlessly awesome and totally versatile. Also, the northern-based firm are always at the front of innovation; the first to introduce a peak to the pram-hood and of course include rear vents in it too.
The company has a long, long heritage in making world-class bivvies (original Armadillo, Armo MKII, Pioneer, Crossfire, Tempest), but it’s the now long-established SLXV2 that makes Carpology grin just a little more than normal – simply because we know, full well, that you, the mighty fine Carpologist, will love it equally as much – especially when you (and more importantly, the wife/girlfriend/bank manager) see the price.
Trakker entered this sector of the bivvy market with panache back in 2010 and four years later the SLXV2 is still recognised as ‘best-in-class’ – and it’s not heard to see why when you hear what’s included in the mere £279.99 package.
“It’s a feature-packed bivvy with all the extras added into one package: front peak, versatile removable infill panels and a winter wrap are all included in either one-man or two-man versions,” states Trakker’s Marketing Manager, Jerry Bridger.
On top of getting a true four-season bivvy (we’re still salivating at the idea of getting a Trakker pram-hood AND winter skin for JUST £279.99), it’s also well equipped: heavy-duty groundsheet and pegs, full frame support system, rod straps, option to use full mozzie or full infill front panels and dual-zipped doors to allow for letterbox-style opening.
To give you a real indication of how good Carpology thinks this bivvy is, back in 2009 we tested a Armo MK11 bivvy – the revved up version of the original Armo and thought from then on that every bivvy would never live up to its brilliant all-round usage. In eyes, the SLXV2 beats it – and it’s (including the Extended Wrap) some £400 cheaper; praise doesn’t come any higher than that. Get one now or forever put you with that grinning, gurning face of your best mate who did.

Mozzied Up
Mozzie front panels are in as much demand right now as Mainline’s Hybrid is – so thank Trakker for throwing one in. This can be used alone or in conjunction with the normal front panel – i.e. meaning if it does throw it down you won’t get wet. And as stated, the SLXv2 does come with a full winter wrap.
Nice Touches
As part of this package you’ll get a front peak which helps keep the rain out, interlocking frame support system, heavy-duty groundsheet and pegs and a zipped carry bag to stowed the whole lot away in.
