Drennan Luggage Review

Having a quality set of luggage is a must these days, and anglers are willing to shell out those few extra quid to ensure they get just that.

One such range which fits the bill is the new Drennan luggage which has been developed in conjunction with Alan Scothorne and has taken almost two years to get right! Everything has been thought of with this range and the materials used are of the highest quality.

Firstly we must say the luggage itself is rather eye-catching, tastefully designed in the new Drennan colour scheme and despite being understated it certainly looks the part.

Alan has had a massive influence on the design and layout of the range. Every pocket and compartment has been positioned with thought and this is far from luggage simply selected off a peg.

It is incredibly practical, with huge capacity. That’s not to say the luggage is massive in size, but the actual capacity is large and capable of holding all your tackle. The holdall options are a 6 to 8-tube model or a 10 to 12-tube variant. Both are 6ft 5in long with full-length zips. The smaller-capacity holdall also has Velcro fittings positioned on the outside to allow the angler to transport three of the Drennan rod sleeves.

The carryall comes in two sizes, also L and XL. The large size has a spacious 70-litre capacity while the XL has 90 litres. Both are fairly simple designs but are precisely what most anglers want from their luggage.



The cool bags are also available in two sizes. The medium size has a 20-litre capacity, or in real terms it can store four 2.2-pint bait tubs and four 3.3-pint bait tubs and still have a bit of room to spare. The larger model has a 35-litre capacity and is capable of holding two 2.2-pint bait tubs and six 3.3-pint bait tubs with a bit of space to spare.

Another great part of this range is the choice of rod sleeves. Again these have been made in two sizes – the short design is for anglers who use three-piece rods and the longer version is ideal for anglers who store longer-sectioned two-piece rods.

Rounding the whole range off is a wet net bag, These are ideal for storing your nets between sessions and come in three sizes – for one, two and three nets.

We have been nothing but impressed with this range of luggage and, judging by the amount we keep seeing on the bank, anglers like it too. If there are two words to sum up this luggage, they are ‘practical’ and ‘quality’. Typical Drennan really!

Drennan 10-12 Tube Holdall

This holdall is part of a new range of luggage that just exudes quality! Manufactured in a square format box section construction with two main compartments, plus outer pocket. Also features two full length heavy-duty zips. Made from a tough waterproof fabric, it has a semi rigid reinforced base. Includes padded shoulder strap and carry handles for additional comfort.

This holdall also has external Velcro fastenings and 3 lower pockets to take 3 Drennan Double Rod Sleeves which are available to buy separately.

Drennan 6-8 Tube Holdall

This holdall is part of a new range of luggage that just exudes quality! Manufactured in a rectangular format construction with a single large side pocket and external Velcro fastenings to secure up to 3 rod sleeves.

Also features a short handle at the base to help with loading and unloading from your vehicle when rod sleeves are attached. A single full length, heavy duty zip, allows fast and easy access.
