A work of art… We take a look at the sublime Daiwa Basia AGS carp rod from Daiwa… is this the ultimate carp rod?
Daiwa is an undoubted innovator in the rod market. Just as you look to top-end Mercedes cars for the latest automotive technology, you look to Daiwa to do the same with it’s carp rods.
Introducing the Basia AGS. The AGS stands for air guide system. Put simply, it’s a new-generation guide developed by Daiwa, made from carbon fibre. This drastically reduces the weight, making the rod much easier to move through the air. This inherently increases tip speed, making it much easier to cast long distances.
Daiwa has truly thrown out the rule book with this rod. A high-grade carbon core with a superb matt finish makes for a thin blank and reduces the overall weight of the rod. The decals on the bank are discreet too, adding to the stealthy appearance. To further complement this, Daiwa has added a thin-profile shrink-wrap handle and low profile reel seat. Everything has been trimmed off to save weight.
There are test curves ranging from 3lb to 3.75lb to suit your requirements and these rods really are the pinnacle of carp rod technology!
