Shimano Exage FD

The Shimano Exage FD is brand new for 2013 and looks set to cement itself as one of the 'must have' best selling coarse fishing reels of the year.

As a few will know, the original Exage FC was owned and enjoyed by over one million anglers, so producing this higher spec, extra modern Exage FD wasn't a rushed job, the thought process and testing was incredible, with Shimano wanting to produce a new model that was far superior, which still offered the same exceptional value for money.

The new Exage features an extra compact body, one which is in fact 10mm smaller than its predecessor! As well as Supported oscillation, improved consistent line lay and casting performance. The reel is also manufactured from a new material that is 2.5 times stiffer than the old one!

Available in three sizes 2500, 3000 and 4000 the Exage FD features 4 shielded stainless ball bearings and one roller bearing, it also uses the excellent Shimano dyna balance system. Other features of the reel include an oversized power roller, varispeed II, super stopped II, AR-C line management system and cold forged aluminium spools. The reel is finally finished with extra stylish champagne and gold graphics.
