Rayleigh Angling Club & Nash Tackle Junior Fish-In

This summer we worked in tandem with Rayleigh Angling Club and Nash Tackle, who run junior coaching sessions in order to help inspire and enthuse children with the joys of angling. Children really are the future of angling, so it is important to get them invested in the sport in order to ensure its continued popularity. After all, there is no reason that angling can’t be a sport for all the family to get involved in and the popularity of our Junior King of the Catch competition goes to prove that young anglers are just as talented and passionate as any adult.

The Rayleigh Angling Club runs all their junior angling coaching sessions completely free of charge and 2016 has been their most popular year in the club’s history. In fact, there has been a dramatic rise in attendees this year, with almost 30 children (and their respective parents) signing up to learn more about the sport that we know and love. Not only did the children at the sessions really enjoy themselves but their parents were getting involved too – whether or not they were anglers themselves – showing once and for all that angling can be enjoyed by all: young or old, novice or expert. It’s all about getting involved.

Nick North, who works with Rayleigh Angling Club, sent us this message:

‘I’d just like to say a big thank you to Angling Direct for supplying the maggots for our junior angling coaching sessions. Without help like this it would be impossible to keep running these sessions free of charge.’
