Getting Prepared - Paul Stevens

Well the British Carp Anglers Championship, BCAC, is already here and both myself and Steve are finding ourselves constantly preparing rigs, organising our bait and doing our homework on how the lake we have chosen is fishing.

This year we have chosen the same route that saw us get to the final last year, which is:

Waltham Stow 1 qualifier Brasenose 1 Semi Final Wraysbury Final

Waltham Stow is one of our favourite venues as there are at least 5 swims out of the 12 that we feel confident in fishing and more importantly, feel like we stand a chance of bagging a few carp.

The support from Angling Direct has been great this year, supplying us with lots of goodies; as fishing these matches can be expensive what with all the bait, rigs needed and of course the entry fee. We have also managed this year to secure a very good bait deal from Sticky baits and feel confident in this company as we used it last year with some very good success, so a massive thanks to Jake Wildebore from Sticky Baits for organising everything in time for our first match. So we must thank all the companies that are supporting us this year and we both hope we can do you all proud, as it wont be for the lack of trying.

Next Thursday will see Steve, our runner (Steves Dad) and I head down to Waltham Stow in hope for a good draw and lets hope the Carp are feeling in the mood. We will try and post little live feeds and updates whilst we are fishing, but as you can imagine we will have other things on our minds so bare with us and we will try to keep you all updated.

Tight lines, Steve & Paul
