After a rather disastrous mornings Perch fishing we changed tackle and tactics and headed down our local River Wensum to see if we could catch a Chub or two.
The area we chose to fish was the Lenwade Bridge Pub stretch, opting to fish roving tactics; the plan was to travel light and drop into any likely looking ‘Chubby’ areas, giving each one 15-20 minutes to see if they would produce a fish.
The set up was simple, a standard running ledger rig with a 1.5oz Korda Grippa Lead and a small, strong size 8 hook. The hook bait was two Dynamite Baits Source Boilies, hair rigged and wrapped in some Sticky Baits Krill Paste.
After a short walk down to the end of the stretch, we reached the bridge and dropped in the first swim, I guess we were hopeful more than confident of landing a fish on camera, but we knew we had to be in it, to win it....
