Our 2018 King of the Catch competition was the hardest fought contest to date, with more entries than ever before. Here are our four winners from another fantastic year of competitive spirit.
King Entry Winner
This year’s crown for King of the Catch goes to Keith Desmond. Keith reeled in a whopping 30.2lb carp!
Queen Entry Winner
This year’s Queen of the Catch title goes to Chelsea Aldridge. Chelsea caught this massive Mandarin Catfish, which weighed an impressive 29lb!
Prince Entry Winner
2018 saw our first year of holding a Prince and Princess of the Catch competition, giving all the juniors out there a chance to show that they can get results that are just as good as the adult anglers. Angling Direct’s first-ever Prince of the Catch is Logan Mayes. Logan caught this 3lb carp at Beechwood Fishery in Derby.
Princess Entry Winner
Finally, Angling Direct’s inaugural Princess of the Catch for 2018 is Sophie Williams. Sophie caught this fantastic 15lb 8oz carp from Manor Farm on her very first night’s fishing.
Prizes
King and Queen
As Angling Direct’s new King and Queen, Keith and Chelsea have won a magnificent 7 night trip to Canada, where they will be fishing for sturgeon, salmon and more. Reaching weights exceeding 1000 pounds, sturgeon can be found in the murky waters of the mighty Fraser River.
Prince and Princess
As the very first Angling Direct Prince and Princess, Logan and Sophie have won the truly brilliant opportunity to go to the beautiful coastal area of Krabi, in southern Thailand. Logan and Sophie, along with one adult each, are going to have the opportunity of 6 days’ fishing, along with the tackle to target the Jurassic looking leviathans that swim this beautiful expanse of water.
Thank you to everyone who took part, and a massive well done to our winners.
