You’ll probably have heard by now that King of the Catch 2016 is back and it’s bigger than ever! With over £25,000 worth of prizes on offer for anglers across the disciplines you won’t want to miss out. What’s more, it’s completely free to enter! The prize on offer in our predator competition is a week of angling on John Wilson’s Thailand fishery – guided by none other than the man himself! Having written over 40 books, hosted countless TV shows, and even received an MBE for his services to angling, John Wilson is a true legend of the sport. He moved out to Thailand several years ago with his wife, Jo, in order to set up his own bespoke fishery. One four acre lake, boasting five idyllic swims, later, and Bung Sawan (or, Lake Garden) fishery was born.

You and one friend will join John on his lake for five magical days of fishing. The lake is fully stocked with some of the most exotic fish that Thailand has to offer – including the likes of Amazon Redtail Catfish, Siamese Carp, Java Barb, and Alligator Gar (to name but a few)! With such a diverse list of species you can never be quite sure what is on the end of your rod.

John will personally guide you through each day of fishing. His knowledge is unparalleled and you’re sure to learn more in one day with John that you could in a lifetime of angling alone. Each day you’ll be served a traditional Thai lunch to keep your energy levels up.

In your downtime you’ll be staying at the Klednatee Resort and Spa. This is a small Thai-run hotel that offers everything you need to wind down from an exciting day with John on the lake. A dip in the pool or a trip to the onsite spa will allow your muscles to relax after a long day battling John’s prize fish. The onsite mini-market allows you to stock up with anything you require, whilst the hotel restaurant will ensure you’re well fed each night before bed.



This trip is run courtesy of Sportsquest Holidays, who will ensure that you have all the tackle and bait you need for an exceptional fishing trip. The trip can be taken at any time of the year (excluding school holidays) and runs for eight days and seven nights, with five days spent with John fishing on his personal fishery.
