Ideal for use in Spring, the Chod Rig has been a favourite for many anglers for many years. In the AD Quickbite video below, we show you how to tie the chod section and also how to fish it safely naked style on the line. This is a great and popular way to fish the chod rig as a lot of venues ban the use of leadcore.
Before we show you the steps to tying a naked chod fishing rig, there are a few items you may need to add to your shopping backet to make this amazing rig.
Step 1: Cut off 25cm of rigidity, the attach the hook using the knotless knot.
Step 2: Slide a mini hook ring swivel to the tag, form a small D then blob with the lighter to secure.
Step 3: Attach a ring swivel to the chod at your required length using a two turn blood knot. Then using your thumb put a slight curve in the chod.
Step 4: Slide a tungsten bead onto your mainline followed by a tungsten line stop. Make sure the bead is the correct way around so that the larger hole can sit on the line stop.
Step 5: Thread the chod rig onto the mainline.
Step 6: Attach the buffer bead as shown in the picture.
Step 7: Push the lead into the buffer bead and secure with the PVA strip.
Step 8: Attach your chosen pop up with bait floss, then balance with a small amount of tungsten putty.
Step 9: Slide the top bead 18-24 inches up the mainline.
