I wasn’t in the market for a new net, but it was love at first light when I first laid my hands on the sniper. The first thing that catches the eye is the stylish handle with it’s nice carbon weave which matches identically to the Sniper mark 2 rods. The handle is also quite thick and although this goes against the grain with most modern net designs its far more functionally. Being a hundred percent ridged there’s no bend in it when you move it through the water so you can net fish effortlessly and quickly. The mesh is also not overly deep as with a lot of the other nets on the market so this again helps with netting and safely transferring fish from the water to the unhooking mate and vice versa.
The spreader block is light and the carbon arms fit snugly into the locating holes but don’t required ten rounds of wrestling to get them out when needs be with a fish in the edge. I honestly thought this net would be expensive, perhaps £120.00 to £150.00 and the most surprising feature is that it is fantastic value at only £79.99. An absolute master piece from the boys at ESP again.
