Advanta X5 Rig Line is so good I don’t use anything else for all my pole rigs and running line hook lengths. This super thin and clear Japanese line is more accurate than some popular high tech monos, which tend to be thicker than stated. So, if you were wandering why you didn’t get any bites last trip out, maybe you need to double check the diameter of line you are using near the hook. You might get a surprise!
I use the 0.08mm Advanta X5 Rig Line as trace material for all my lighter pole rigs, finding it perfect for silver fish like roach and skimmers. Combined with number 2 to 3 pole elastics it can land some surprisingly big fish. Roach to over 2 lb, bonus bream to 4lb and a few sizeable perch have all tested this gear very hard and it has coped admirably.
The X5 0.10mm gauge matches perfectly as main line with the 0.08mm hook length line on my light pole rigs. I also use it as hook length material with bigger capacity pole floats, aimed at deep or flowing water situations. Used with a number 4 or 5 pole elastic the thin nature of this line pulls loads of bites and yet its strong enough to land much bigger fish than you might expect.
Stepping up to the Advanta X5 0.12mm Rig Line, I use this a lot as a hook length for running line feeder rigs and attacking float rigs. It might seem a bit on the light side for the feeder, but during the winter I have caught loads of big fish on this gear, which I’m convinced brings more bites due to its thin, clear nature. Bream and chub to 6lbs, not a problem. Top tackle!
