Cold Water Carping... Fishing The Pellet Cone

Cold Water Carping, Fishing The Pellet Cone

With the weather turning cooler and water temperatures dropping we took the camera’s to Runnel Lakes, part of the Barford complex, with the hope of catching a few fish on the Pellet Cone.

Now at this time of year the Pellet Cone can be an extremely effective way of catching fish, for a number of reasons. The first being it’s something different, it’s something that the fish may not have seen before and it may catch you more fish than the angler in the peg who is using standard feeder tactics. Secondly it achieves a similar presentation to what a PVA bag offers, however with colder water temperatures PVA can sometimes take too long to dissolve which obviously isn’t ideal.

If you want learn all the information about this method and exactly how to fish it, plus find out how our session unfolded then simply watch the two part video below! To watch in HD simply click the little cog in the YouTube player and select 720p or 1080p.
