Casting to the future - Terry Edmonds

Terry is mostly known for his casting ability; over the years he has cast both UK and World records, and became the first person to overhead cast a carp rod more than 250 yards! He is a carp casting coach, teaching casting and long-range fishing techniques to anglers in the UK and all over Europe, giving him massive experience of the tackle that is on offer beyond British borders. The anglers he teaches range from beginners to national standard competitors plus he is also the Team England Casting coach.

Terry is an accomplished angler who has been fishing since the age of four, meaning he has been angling for 40 years. From winning open matches in his younger years to catching carp over 40 pounds in the UK, he is happy fishing for any species.

Terry has contributed to many carp magazines all over Europe, but also has appeared in Sea, Match and Fly Fishing magazines. He has been involved in the trade for over 15 years. A lot of his carp angling has been overnight sessions in between work, owing to a busy work life and family. He also works with Harrison rods and have used their products for many years.

More recently, while travelling through Europe teaching casting, Terry has spent more time carp fishing, catching carp from Sweden, Poland, Holland, Romania and France in recent years.

At Angling Direct Terry is mainly based in the Chelmsford store, and often works there on a Thursday and Friday, always at hand to give advice. He also will be contributing to our media pages in the future, and helping with the development of our own Advanta brand.

Terry also has his own media pages, answering questions and giving advice on a daily basis.
