It is that time of year again, Christmas I hear you say? Close, but no, it’s fishing show season.
This month marks the beginning of the Angling show calendar up and down the country and a trip to the shows is one thing I love doing at this time of year.
Whether it’s a day out at the more intimate Carp Society Winter show at Sandown ,The Big One show at Farnborough, the giant and biggest event in carp fishing that is the Brentwood show or a visit to the northern powerhouse that is The Northern Angling show or NAS in Manchester as its commonly known. Each and every show has something to offer no matter whether you’re a carp, match or predator angler.
Attending an angling show makes me feel like a kid in a sweetshop. Thousands of tackle items all under one roof, allowing you to get hands on and try before you buy, and even offer you a sneak preview of things to come as a multitude of brands showcase their star products.
Not only will you find mountains of tackle but you will undoubtedly find irresistible deals that you won’t find anywhere else, so make sure you take a little extra cash as you wouldn’t want to miss out on that star buy or bargain bait bundle would you?
Now whilst there is the opportunity to buy new products and get a glimpse of the latest products on offer at the shows there’s also a multitude of other attractions.
Why not come along and listen to your favourite anglers on stage as they share with you epic tales and bankside experiences which are sure to inspire all.
Get down and meet your favourite angling “all stars” fresh from the cover of a glossy magazine or silver screen, you can even grab yourself a cheeky selfie and be the envy of all your mates on the bank!
As if this wasn’t enough there will be a variety of technical displays and rig clinics available to peruse at your leisure along with countless competitions and games for the competitive ones amongst us.
Compliment this with some quality food and drink, making any angling show a top day out and a fun day out for all the family.
With my first show of the season at Sandown with team Sonik under my belt, I now look forward to traveling south once again to the Brentwood show in early 2020 so if you see me don’t forget to pop along and say hi.
