Glorious Cheshire sunshine was present for the whole day during the Grand Opening of Angling Direct Wilmslow. With temperatures outside reaching the high twenties (who says the sun doesn’t shine up north?!) the offers, special guests, and free goodies available to our valued customers made sure things were just as hot in store too.
Store manager Matt Antal opened the store at 8am and was greeted by a host of customers, all flocking to sample the fully stocked, new look Angling Direct Wilmslow. Huge credit has to be given to Matt and his team, as well as Roy Allen and Lee Tomlin, for all the hard work not only on the day, but getting the store ready and welcoming in the days and weeks before, too.
With 200 free goody bags loaded with items from the likes of Mainline, Trakker, Nash, Guru, Shimano, RidgeMonkey, Advanta and others, it was clear that no one was leaving disappointed, and that’s before they had seen the angling super stars in store on the day. The staff even managed to run an instore raffle with their own goody bags, which cost the customer only an extra £5 and one of which contained a hidden £100 AD Gift Card! A great idea which was well received.
In terms of special guests, Gaz Hood and Stephen May from Trakker put on an awesome display of all things Trakker outside the store, as did Maver, with the help of dream team Sarah Phoenix and Emma Pickering.
In store, Nash, represented by Tom Forman, Max Hendry and James Massey gave us all a sneak peak at a few new Nash terminal tackle and NashBait items coming soon, as well as being a constant source of helpful information on all things carp related.
Dave Fuidge was a fountain of knowledge on all things Shimano, advising customers on rods and reels as well as dispensing some of the most in depth carp fishing ‘edges’ to anyone who asked.
Guru’s Connor Barlow hand-tied rigs, showed how to prep Mainline match bait, and generally helped advise the match and coarse anglers.
Finally, the legend that is Steve Ringer was in store, talking through Daiwa’s range of coarse tackle, and helping customers with all their match fishing questions.
For those of you that want to take a look for yourselves, head to the Angling Direct Facebook page and check out Hassan’s live interviews with the stars mentioned.
The day was consistent in terms of customer traffic, with feedback for the store being 100% positive.
The team of staff were not only knowledgeable and willing to help, but had put in a serious amount of hours to ensure the day was a total success.
The store is now well and truly open in style, so head over and take a look for yourself - I know the team are looking forward to welcoming you.
