3lb 12oz Monster River Roach!

Good friend and Angling Direct backed Josh Fisher has hit the headlines again this week with a stunning specimen river Roach of 3lb 12oz. The big redfin was the only bite of a five month campaign, which saw Josh put the rod hours in on a super tough southern river. Finally after literally thousands of hours on the banks in pursuit of such a specimen Josh slipped the net under this monster, one of the biggest ever caught from a river.

Josh targeted the fish, pre-baiting with mashed bread, before returning the next day armed with a small feeder filled with the same. After a few casts his tip pulled round as the fish of a lifetime had taken to a liking to his bread flake hook bait.

In the fading light of day, Josh originally believed he'd hooked a big chub and it wasn't until the fish got closer to his waiting landing net, that he realised exactly what it was.

The fish smashes Josh's originally PB, which stood at an already impressive 2lb 5oz.
